Another of the juicy and clean coffees is AA washed Kenya. Nyeri County's location, where the coffee was grown, is the ideal base for full-bodied, acidic coffees. Reminiscent of currants, peaches and red apples, it is the result of the work of Nyeri farmers as well as Ndaro-ini PLC - a company that works with more than 2,000 local growers.
The Ndaro-ini station was established by local farmers because they no longer wanted to transport coffee long distances to the nearest (although still very far away) processing stations. In Swahili, the company's name Ndaro-ini means "resting place".
Processing
The coffee went through wet processing, during which the cherries were first depulped, fermented for 12-48 hours, later washed, and dried on African beds until the moisture content of the cherries dropped to 10-12%.
The coffee is further processed at the Othaya station, where the final processing processes take place.
